Corrections Policy

Commitment to Accuracy

WhistleblowerShield.org aims to provide accurate, up-to-date educational information about whistleblower protections in the United States. Legal information carries real consequences for real people — we take accuracy seriously.

WhistleblowerShield.org is committed to maintaining a high standard of accuracy across our entire jurisdictional database. If you encounter a legal inaccuracy, an outdated citation, a broken link, or a simple typographical error, we welcome your feedback to help improve the site for all users.

How to Submit a Correction

Please email [email protected] with the following information:

  • The URL of the page containing the content in question.
  • The specific statement you believe is incorrect.
  • Your proposed correction, if you have one.
  • A citation or link to an official or reliable source supporting the correction, if available.

What Happens Next

We aim to acknowledge correction requests within 3 days. Simple factual corrections are typically resolved within 7 days. Complex corrections involving legal interpretation may take longer to verify against official statutes and case law. When a correction is warranted, we will:

  • Update the affected page.
  • Revise the “Last Reviewed” date on that page.
  • Publish a brief entry in the Legal Updates log noting what changed and when.

Significant corrections — particularly those affecting the accuracy of legal information — will always be noted in the Legal Updates log. This site does not quietly fix errors; we document them transparently.

Limitations

We may not respond individually to every request. We reserve the right to decline to act on content that is unsourced, speculative, harassing, or outside the site’s educational scope.

Correction requests that appear motivated by political opinion or ideological disagreement rather than factual inaccuracy will not be considered. This site does not alter factual legal content based on partisan framing.
